'The Museum' is the motif that symbolises the future of Hereke Rugs. Hereke silk rug tradition is one that goes back to 1840's, when one of the Ottoman Emperor's established the Hereke Imperial Factory exclusively for the Ottoman Court. Ever since then the traditional designs have successfully been used to produce the finest examples of these rugs. However, after over a century and a half, the traditional Hereke Rug makers have felt the need for an update and came up with the fine composition of 'The Medallion' and 'The Seven Flowers'. They called this motif 'The Museum' to the longevity projected on to this motif.
